Less than a year after holding city-wide casting calls amid rumors that everyone from Sean Kingston to Guerilla Black was set to play the role of Biggie Smalls, the wonders of youtube have brought the first round of trailers for the upcoming film Notorious, a bio pic about the life of Bed-Stuy native son Christopher Wallace aka Notorious BIG. Played by Brooklyn rapper and acting unknown Jamal Wollard aka Gravy, the film features an all-star cast including Angela Basset as BIG’s mother Voletta Wallace, Derek Luke as Sean Diddy Combs, and Anthony Mackie as Tupac. I wonder if they’ll address BIG’s still unresolved murder at the age of 24...funny thing is that the week they announced the cast for the film, the LATimes actually came out with a report that Diddy put the hit on Tupac but the story was later retracted.
