Kitsune Noir has presented an ongoing competition to provide free desktop wallpapers from prominent artists around the world. The creator of the blog; Bobby S. has opened a creative venue for artists to showcase their talent and for his readers; a way to bring originality to the screens we peer into everyday. This undertaking trickled down from a project featured on the blog last year; after Bobby S. designed his own desktop wallpaper in honor of Radiohead’s highly anticipated album In Rainbows. When the desktop wallpaper project started; three prominent artists were featured: Tim Biskup, Mcbess and IMAKETHINGS. Every week the excitement has built up and the fervor is rightly deserved. One of my favorite artists featured on the site is Artur Neufield, an unbelievable 17-year-old from Germany. A self taught Photoshop and 3D Studio Max graphic artist; he has a great range of visually vibrant work. The wallpaper is available to download for computer screens of various sizes, PSP and iPhone. The project started in March of this year has morphed from artist’s blindly submitting work to working on themes cited by Bobby. I cannot wait to see what else this creative venture will produce down the road.
