Davide Zucco has been in the trenches of Italy’s contemporary art scene for some time, paying his dues, and exhibiting all over Europe from his home base of Venice. He is currently in New York working on several projects. We’ll keep you up to date on any new shows coming up in New York. Zucco is definitely one to watch. He has a fluid narrative style so different from most of the styles that are de rigeur with street and contemporary artists working today.
Check out more of his work here.

This is so brilliant. Do you think Zooey Deschanel (She & Him) thinks she sounds like this when she sings? Probably. Annie Clark showing folks how it should be done.

Does it get any better than this? This is Wilco covering Neil Young’s “Broken Arrow.” Enjoy!

Bear Cappuccino was created in a small cafe in my hometown Kumamoto, Japan.
It gave me a smile and comfort in the rainy day.

We got an email recently from art director / designer Kumi Hayase, and she pointed us to a gallery of images about food that we wanted to share with you. Warning: Makes you hungry just by looking at the screen.

There is a smile face on the bottom of the salad bowl.

A little piece of Mentaiko, marinated roe of pollock, is one of the best friends of white rice.
This is my favorite hometown taste that I always love.

People think Pro-Tec only makes kid-friendly skateboard helmets. After trying out this Pro-Tec Vigilante model helmet, it was cool to do some research and find out they actually make really amazing tech helmets for snowboarding and biking at reasonable prices. This one, the Andreas Wiig signature (snowboard) model retails for about $200, and comes with a BOA fit system - where you twist one knob on the back of the thing which tightens EVERYTHING into place. Simply genius. The ear pads (with a plug-in chord which you can hook up to an mp3 player) are Plantronics Audio Force ear pads, and they’re detachable. There’s also a goggle shelf which keeps stuff in place when out on the slopes. Overall I am most impressed by how the helmet fits - the BOA system hugs the back of my head snugly while not feeling overly tight, which I feel is the problem with most helmets I’ve run in the past. If you have a friend riding around town on a bike (or someone who frequently snowboards) without a helmet on, invest in their safety and get them one of these.

I travel a lot, and I break and destroy a lot of headphones. I drop them, I lose them, I rip them to shreds. I demand a lot from them so I’m usually really tough on every single pair. I have finally found the perfect set of headphones. I’m not a big fan of the in-ear ones simply because most of them sound horrible, and tinny. The first time I put the Ultimate Ears 700 earbuds in my ear though, everything changed. I just could not believe such clear and rich sounds were coming out of something so tiny! The set comes with a small plastic case (which I immediately lost) but I guard the headphones with my life, and I rarely travel anywhere without them now.
If you’re looking for a gift under $200 for someone who is always on the move, these are perfect.
