Allister Lee (Studio B.I.B, as in, Black is Beautiful) has what may be the world’s biggest black marker collection. Currently numbered at 523 markers, the collection is still growing.
The B.I.B.L.E is an illustrated documentation of Allister Lee’s personal collection of black ink marking devices gathered from around the world. The collection and archived illustrations exist as a tribute towards a utilitarian object of function and design that is involved in the conception or execution of all STUDIO B.I.B projects.
It takes some serious dedication to commit to something for nine years and then document it by hand in detail. Lee’s process truly demonstrates that black is beautiful, especially when it results in art that can be shared with the world. You can own the collection too, in a poster that will feature 500 markers drawn to scale in intricate detail. Get one here.
