As the grind of fall/winter goes into full gear, we’ve been dreaming of an escape. We’re not thinking of sipping cocktails poolside in a tropical island, but roughing it in dramatic, rugged vistas, in particular, Yosemite park. So it felt like kizmet when our friend and occasional Theme photographer Yuri Shibuya sent us some photos of her recent trip to Yosemite. They’re quite breath taking.

In the top photograph I like how the seedlings stand out in front of the mature trees in the background, but the sky is blown out.... I think the photo would be better if cropped to the bottom 1/3.
